Overview of a Rosen Session

A Rosen Method session is typically sixty (60) minutes.  It is generally done on a massage table with the client dressed to their comfort level or unclothed except for underwear and with the client appropriately draped for comfort and privacy.  Pillows or bolsters are provided, and no oils or lotions are used.

A session begins with you lying either face up or face down if that is comfortable, and I may ask you to turn over about halfway through the session.  If you have any physical limitations or concerns or cannot lie comfortably for long periods on either your stomach or back, the session can be done in side-lying position or even while seated in a chair or lying in bed.

A Rosen Method session is a gentle, collaborative experience for the client and practitioner.  During the session, I will sometimes ask what you notice happening in your body or your thoughts since enhanced self-awareness is an integral part of the work.  You do not have to answer or share any information you do not wish to and I will not be offended.  You also are always welcome to ask any questions or share any experiences you have as they arise. This does not interfere with and often aids the work we are doing.

Ideally, you should allow yourself a quiet hour or two after the session without other commitments to support your system's gentle integration of the experience.
